Chithirai Thiruvizha
A major festival celebrated in Madurai at the Meenakshi Amman Temple. The divine wedding of Goddess Meenakshi and Lord Sundareswarar is celebrated with grand processions lasting several days. Thousands of devotees gather from across Tamil Nadu.
Vishu
Celebrated by Tamil communities in Kerala on the same day as Puthandu marking the new year with similar traditions.
