Celebrates the birth of Lord Krishna. Homes are decorated with small footprints leading into the house symbolizing baby Krishna's arrival. Special sweets like seedai and murukku are prepared. Children dress up as Lord Krishna.
Vinayagar Chaturthi (விநாயகர் சதுர்த்தி)
One of the biggest festivals in Tamil Nadu. Celebrates the birth of Lord Ganesha. Clay idols of Ganesha are installed in homes and public spaces. Special prayers and kozhukattai offerings are made. Celebrated with great enthusiasm across Tamil Nadu.
Avani Avittam
